Prof. Takahiro Kanno, DDS, FIBCSOMS, FIBCSOMS-ONC/RECON, Ph.D., graduated from the School of Dentistry and Graduate School of Dentistry, Kyushu Dental College, Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, Japan in 2001 (DDS) and be awarded Ph.D. degree (Maxillofacial Surgery; Director, Chief & Mentor: Prof. Tetsu Takahashi) from Graduate School of Kyushu Dental College in 2005. He worked at The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of Kyushu Dental College (2001-2005) and at The Division of Oral-Maxillofacial Surgery of Kagawa Prefectural Central Hospital (2005-2012). He studied abroad for clinical fellowships (AO fellow and IBRA fellow) at The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich, Germany (2006) and at The Department of CranioMaxillofacial Surgery, University of Bern, Switzerland (2007). He is now employed by Shimane University Faculty of Medicine as a full-time medical faculty (2012-present).
He is currently Chair Professor and Director of The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (2020-present), the Chief Surgeon of Maxillofacial Trauma Center. He has more than 200 published scientific papers, among them 120 published in international journals.
